Lynne Stein
Lynne uses traditional textile techniques, such as hand and machine hooking and tufting, felt making, and stitch. Her sculptural and painterly approach involves the use of a vast array of fabrics and fibres, to achieve both the vibrant and subtle colour blends, patterns, and rich textural surfaces which are a significant feature of her 2- and 3- dimensional work. Both ethically and creatively, her practice is also concerned with the use of recycled and reclaimed materials. Influenced by a folk- art aesthetic and narrative, she frequently draws upon stories and mythologies, physical connections with the land, and one’s inner and outer journey through life.
All artworks are made from recycled and new fabrics, fibres, and accessories.
