It is with great sadness that I announce that Ian Jarman, one of the loveliest artists I have ever worked with, died unexpectedly but very peacefully in his sleep during the night of 14th August. Unfortunately he had a heart problem that had not been apparent. He was 63 years of age. Although Ian will no longer be with us in the physical sense, his spirit will live on in the wonderful monotype and mixed media paintings he produced of the Manchester area and the oil paintings he produced of Suffolk. He was a kind and gentle person whose work was much admired and widely collected. He will be greatly missed.

The Lure of Manchester was too great for Richard Clare.  Having lived the last seven years in Italy he has now returned to the UK and this exhibition celebrates his paintings of Manchester over the last ten years.
